Chapter 4 Test Review
Hopefully your studying is going well. If not, do not fear! Ask specific questions on what you're stuck on, and I'll be glad to help. Please don't just say, "I don't get it!" Also, read through other students' comments because they may have already asked your question. Good luck tomorrow!

what pages in our books do we read from?
Jessica - It's Chapter 4. Use your table of contents. I don't have the book memorized, but it starts around p.90.
in our study guide it says to know what each region uses for trade.. are we going to have to fill out a map for all the things the make like crops and fish and whales like we did in class ?
There's no map. Just know that New England relied on fishing and industry, Middle relied on agriculture (grain, fruits, vegetables) and manufacturing, South relied on agriculture (rice, tobacco, indigo).
what were the major resourses of each region? population? climate?
I mentioned the resources above, but here is an overview of the rest. New England – long winters, rocky soil, population mostly English settlers
Middle – shorter winters and fertile soil, region attracted immigrants and was very diverse
Southern – warm climate, good soil, used African slaves for labor
on the study guide, it says, what was the colonial reaction to the navagation acts?
i dont know where to get that answer, can you please help me ?
Colonial reaction was simply that they ignored the laws. They began to import and export illegally so they wouldn't have to share as much profits with England. In other words, their reaction was to smuggle.
Are all the answer's from the test in The textbook, only chapter 4? right?
Yes the answers are in your book, and your notes. This test is only on Chapter 4.
Are there any essay questions?
well there be short answer questions on our test ?
What are the 3 main places, or points of the triangular trade route, What were there names again, i would find the answer myself but i forgot my book. And my computer won't let me see any of the comments so i don't know if someone has already asked this question.
No essays or short answers. Thursday's Unit I test is an essay.
Triangular Trade = Trade route with 3 stops, New England carries rum & iron to Africa, Africa carries slaves & gold to West Indies, West Indies carries sugar & molasses to New England

Are there any main people we have to know for the test?
Jessica, you don't need to know any specific people. Just what kind of people were in each region which I answered above.
In your opinion, if you were like a student that did not study but payed attention in class, is the test easy?
How were the middle colonies able to develope a climate of tolerance?
What kind of a question is that?! I wouldn't say easy, but if you paid attention you might be alright. Especially if you paid attention to the review (hint). I'll just say the fact there were 35 questions in the review and 35 questions on your test are not an accident. :P
ummmm, what does cash crops mean and what do they do ?
The Middle Colonies developed tolerance through diversity. There were so many cultures, religions, etc. that they grew to get along.
Cash crops are just like they sound. They are crops grown to make cash or money. In other words, they are crops grown specifically to sell. "What do they do?"...they grow. :)
Thankyou for the help on behalf on my studying. Well you do this on each test we have?
In this context what is considered cash crops? is indigo and tobacco some?
I will try and do this for all our tests, but it depends on my schedule. My son's in football, my daughter plays volleyball and rides horses, I'm taking graduate class, and of course I have cross country as well so time can be limited.
In this context your example is correct. Examples of cash crops in the middle colonies would be corn, wheat, etc. The Southern colonies would have rice, indigo and tobacco.
Thank you for your help full information!
No problem! We're getting close to 10pm. Do you guys want me to stay on longer?
I can't ask anymore questions because my mother is nagging me. so ill just have to manage in study hall and come to you if i have anymore questions.
That's funny...okay see you in study hall.
Ten o'clock...time for bed.
